Luoyng Deping successfully created pipe centralizer for CNOOC (China national offshore oil corporation ), which solved a world wide problem of pile leg welding on deep sea well.

Currently, :Offshore oil 981” drilling platform finished its first show of oversea drilling in deep sea well, this let the world acknowledge the potential of deep sea oil extraction. At the same time, Luoyang Dengping technology co., Ltd. is capable to supply pipe centralizer for CNNOC, this solve the world wide problem of oil well pile leg welding error.

Generally, deep see oil and gas is defined as the oil and gas resource under the sea, the depth of which is more than 300 meters. At present, the depth of most of offshore oil fields explored and developed by China are less than 300m. The exploration of oil and gas under 300m sea is still at its preliminary stage. The platform pile leg welding is the biggest stumbling block for China to develop the drilling platform on deep sea.

According to the introduce of Wang guang lin( the general manager of Luoyang Dengping technology co., Ltd.) , there are two steps of pile leg construction. Firstly, steel pipes will be welded as core structure. Then, they will be transported to offshore drilling platform for further welding and assembling. For the reason of errors existing in the production, welding joints of steel pipes are mild elliptical. It results in the welding joint can not matched exactly, which will influence the firmness of pile leg.

“It just like building blocks, if the component ride crooked it will collapse soon. Then, talking about deep sea oil extraction is meaningless ” said by Wang guang lin.

As a large state-owned enterprise, CNOOC has extremely strict technical requirement for product. Why CNOOC feel rest assured to let a private enterprise in Luoyang to solve this world wide problem? This goes back to their first cooperation in 3 years ago.

15th on May 2012, “offshore oil 201” offshore pipe laying barge set sail from China South sea. It is the first deep water hoisting pipe laying barge on the world which has the capacity of laying pipe under 3000m sea, 4000T lifting capacity and 3 levels dynamic positioning. Pipe Beveling machines and Internal pipe line up clamps self-developed by Luoyang Deping are involved in the entire construction process of the barge. Luoyang Deping is the sole supplier of those product in China. There have not been any obstacles since those equipment put into use.

Because of the stable performance of their product ,Luoyang Deping is recognized by CNOOC. At the beginning of last year, experts of CNOOC commissioned Luoyang Deping to solve the problem of pile leg welding on deep sea oil well.

After many times tests and rectifications, a year later, DPYD hydraulic centralizer was successfully developed by Luoyang Deping. The device can be put into the steel pipe to prop nozzles of two adjacent steel pipes by using hydraulic principal, which will form a nearly perfect concentric circles. This is a good solution to the problem of pipe joint centralization and butt welding.

After examination, experts agree that the high accuracy and high efficiency of this product is fully compliant the requirement of pile leg welding on offshore drilling platform. Also, it can be applied to the welding of the structural body of deep sea drilling platform in the future and any other splicing operation of steel cylinders.
